Harley, renamed Charlie, is a 4 year old neutered red and white male placed in Temecula, CA on January 6th.  Charlie was brought in to the rescue program in August 2007 when his family moved to a colder climate and they thought he would be happier staying where it’s warmer.  Charlie will have plenty of warmth snuggling under the covers with his new owner who is retired and will be giving Charlie all of the attention he craves!  Charlie is also spoiled with an entire IG proof acre yard to play and sunbathe in.  For meals, Charlie and his owner visit family next door where Charlie gets to play with a one year old IG named Romeo and a 7 year old Weim named Faith.   Thanks to IGCA Rescue CA for helping to find Charlie this wonderful home, and thanks to Charlie’s new owner’s who drove to Phoenix to give him the most comfortable homecoming!

Misty, a four year old fawn and white female, and Pecan, renamed Peekee, a 3 year old fawn and white male, were placed in Chandler on January 12th. Misty was turned in to rescue late December with her housemate Skeeter (above) when their owner could no longer care for them due to their owner’s health issues. Peekee and 10 other IGs were placed in rescue after being confiscated from an animal cruelty case by authorities. When Peekee first came into rescue, he was incapacitated by fear and it seemed nothing could bring him joy.   After 4 months in rescue it is still not possible to simply walk up to Peekee and pet him but has made a lot of progress and is happy about almost everything!   Treats and Dinner!   Waking people up in the morning to visit!   The freedom of using the dog door! Running around the yard!   The dog park!   Playing with dog friends!   Even being petted is pretty darn nice!   Peekee is experiencing even more new things and continues to improve in his new home.   Within just a few days, Peekee learned to safely navigate the stairs in his new home.   Even more impressive, Peekee completed his FIRST SUCCESSFUL WALK around the block on a leash with the help of his new mom and his calm IG buddy, Misty, who enjoys going for walks.   Peekee is a happy boy in his new home and loves to follow his mom around the house to see what wonderful thing will happen next. Their new owners have friends who own IGs and they visit regularly.  For now, Misty enjoys watching the rambunctious antics of Peekee and the IG visitors from the warm comfort of her owner’s lap while she corners the market on getting petted!

Lucy [renamed Priscilla] is a red and white female who was placed in Los Angeles, California on March 4th. Priscilla and 10 other IGs were placed in rescue after being confiscated from an animal cruelty case by authorities in September 2007.  Priscilla is happiest in a large pack where she has lots of other dogs to take courage from and she has plenty of dog friends in her new home! Priscilla now lives with 7 other IGs ages 5 to 10 years old each adopted through the rescue program.  Though Priscilla is extremely timid and difficult to ‘catch’, she has a curious personality and she is quickly coming out of her shell in her new home.  She loves to sniff her mom when she thinks she can’t be seen doing it.  Priscilla’s mom is working with her daily and Priscilla regularly comes running when she hears her name being called to see why she’s wanted!  Priscilla has learned to safely navigate the stairs in her new home and is also rapidly learning to walk and potty while on a leash which is a great accomplishment for both her and new owner. Thank you to IGCA Rescue in California for helping Priscilla find an experienced home that can help her learn to be a happy and permanent member of a big, loving and fun family.

Honey [renamed Goldie] is a dainty fawn and white female who was placed in Cave Creek on March 8th. Goldie and 10 other IGs were placed in rescue after being confiscated from an animal cruelty case by authorities in September 2007. Goldie was adopted by her foster home and she has come a long way in the months since September when she was too afraid to leave her crate most of the time.  At first, not even food would convince Goldie to come out of her crate but she now loves meal time and comes running for her turn for treat.  Goldie also now confidently walks out in the yard to potty or play [an open space which used to terrify her] and she now loves to cuddle on the couch with mom in evenings which used to make her very nervous.  Goldie is pampered princess who sports a beautiful ID collar hand made especially for her by her mom and is the only collar Goldie has agreed to wear [she tries to chew all others off at any cost and has almost injured herself].  Goldie also has a plethora of cozy places to snuggle around the house including a special dog bed near the bathroom where she likes to be when mom gets ready for work.  Goldie shares her home with fellow rescue Dash [see placements 2007] IG Sophie, Pug Frannie and is watched over by the gentle loving spirit of Merlin the Greyt who passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Goldie’s adoption day from bone cancer.  Merlin was also a rescue and Goldie was very intrigued by him.  When Goldie first came to live in Merlin’s home, it was her curiosity of him that often gave her the courage to come out of her crate to visit when nothing else would.

Pay attention to me!”.  Evie also likes to dig in the yard and eat rose bushes but she is learning that she really shouldn’t indulge herself with these activities.  Evie shares her home with a German Shorthair Pointer named Crispy and a male IG name “Little” that is actually quite big!

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Sasha is a 3 year old black and white female placed in Phoenix on July 26th.  Sasha was turned in to rescue on May 25th with Natalia [above] when their owner had difficulty housetraining Natalia and felt Sasha would be lonely as an only dog if only Natalia was re-homed.  Sasha shares her owner with fellow rescue Sassy [See Placements 2005].  Sasha is very playful and she might just have the cutest play bow on the planet that she executes with frequency, speed and grace before zooming off to play peek-a-boo from behind the couch when a stranger arrives.  When Sasha slows down, she likes to snuggle under Dad’s chin.

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Guiseppe, a 6 yr old black and white male, was adopted in Gilbert on August 2nd.  Guiseppe was turned into the rescue program with his brother Enzo in July 2008 due to changes in their owners living situation. Guiseppe joins a very loving family where he has a new IG brother, Vito.  These two just may have been destined to be brothers one day, as they knew each other from a local dog park from years ago when they were just little boys!  They seemed to remember that they were long lost friends and were happy to see each other once again (although Guiseppe insists on being the 'boss').  Guiseppe enjoys following his new mom everywhere she goes and is your typical 'velcro' IG!

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Dante, a 3 yr old fawn and white male, was adopted by his Angels in Gilbert on August 5th.  Dante was facing euthanasia prior to being into the rescue program in June 2008 due to the high maintenance and costs associated with his rare medical condition of Diabetes Insipidus.  This rare form of Diabetes can and is and being controlled with expensive and time consuming medication that needs to be administered 3 times per day.  If left unmedicated, this disease will cause Dante to dehydrate very quickly if not given access to very large amounts of water that causes frequent and excessive urination.  Dante joins a very loving and compassionate family where he has another adopted IG brother, Giovanni (near top of this page), and two Australian Shepard siblings.  Dante is a very outgoing and happy go lucky little guy who very much loves and is forever grateful to his new family!

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Buddy is a 1 year old fawn and white male who came into the rescue program in Aug 2008 and was placed in Scottsdale on Dec 6th.  Buddy’s owner had difficulty house training him and allowed us to rehome him through rescue instead of homing him through an online ad.  Like many IGs, we found that Buddy does best in his housetraining if his owner goes out with him and make sure he potties before coming back in the house, especially in the morning and at night when it’s COLD!  It also helps to be neutered!  Buddy LOVES people and will he will be blissful to share his life with an owner that works from home and who has plenty of time to spend with him.   Though Buddy is techically an only dog, he will have fun playdates with his extended family which includes IG rescue Ziggy [2007] and Greyt rescue Comet.  Buddy will also frequently visit Yorkie Midnight.

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Faytimere is a 7 year old fawn female who was placed in Scottsdale December 13th.  Fayte was a stray and her finders called rescue on Sep 11 for help homing her when no one came forward to claim her after weeks of searching for her owners.   Fayte is eager for gentle attention and is happy to snuggle with people.  Fayte is an only dog and she happily has all the attention she could imagine since her mom works from home a lot.  Fayte has become quite adept at the ‘iggy pat n pull’--- yes!, the little paw grab that says “Hey! You’re not done petting me!  Keep going!”.  Even though Fayte loves attention, when she first came in to rescue she would startle and cower easily.  In a few short months of being spoiled like a princess, going for long walks and jogs with her mom, and visiting grandma, Fayte is much more outgoing and confident.

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Foxy Lady [renamed Gracie] is a 3 year old fawn and white female placed in Phoenix on December 25th.  Gracie was turned in to the rescue program Nov 28th when her family decided to move to a colder climate and thought she would be happier staying in Arizona where it’s warmer.  Though Gracie likes other dogs, she loves people best and she is now an only dog who will get all the love and attention she wants from her Mom who works from home.  [Yes, she will be lavishly spoiled!].  Gracie’s circle of friends and family is increasing very fast since she steals the hearts of all who meet her.  For fun, Gracie might visit fellow rescue IG Rusty who lives just down the street with his housemate Kysen and her foster home said she is welcome to visit anytime where she has three more IG pals!

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)
