Greta is a 6-year-old red and white female placed in Phoenix on January 22nd. Greta was originally surrendered to the Arizona Humane Society in Tucson when her owner was relocating and could no longer care for her, and joined our rescue program on August 28, 2010. Greta is a sweet, incredibly social girl with a wonderful little spirit who brings a smile to everyone she meets! Greta LOVES to go for walks and to the dog park, and enjoys meeting every dog and person she comes across! In her new forever home, Greta is having the time of her life, going for walks along the golf course several times a day with her new mom and IG brother, Vinny. She also gets ample play time at her human sister’s house, where she gets to play with her new IG niece and nephew. Greta has a very special relationship with her new mom, and they couldn’t be happier! Congrats to Greta and her new forever family!

Slim, renamed Emma, is a red female placed in Chandler on February 5, 2011. Emma entered our rescue program July 14th, 2010 when we were contacted by the Humane Society’s Second Chance program to help her after she had suffered severe physical trauma evidenced by lacerations on her paws and near her legs and her right rear leg was dislocated from her hip. We’re not sure how old Emma is, but we believe she is 6-8 years old. Though Emma is a bit cautious of people she doesn’t know, she is an upbeat, curious and happy little dog who literally tap dances with joy when she is excited and this is very fun to watch! Emma’s new mom fell in love with her the very second she read her story on our website, and their first meeting only served to reinforce the strength of the bond that she felt. In her new forever home, Emma is excited to be the center of attention and is looking forward to a long, happy life of pampering from her new mom. A heartfelt congratulations to this very special girl and her new mom!

Earnhardt (pictured left below) is a sweet and gentle boy who steals the heart of everyone he meets! He LOVES to run and play in his new backyard with Bella, who has been showing him the ropes in his new forever home! He also enjoys spending ample cuddle time with Bella and loves to give hugs to his new dad. SHEBA is a spunky seven-year-old seal and white female placed in Pueblo, Colorado on February 22, 2011. Sheba came into rescue on August 18, 2010, when her owner was moving and could not take Sheba with her. Sheba is a playful little girl, who stole the heart of her new mom and dad during a vacation she took with her foster mom to Colorado. Sheba spends her days with a little Pekapoo and a Yorkshire terrier.  She loves to play with her new sisters and cuddle up with them at night.  She loves wearing all her warm and cozy sweaters.  Her new mom and dad love her very much. Asti and Tasha are 7 year old blue and white females placed in Glendale on February 25, 2011. Asti and Tasha were originally mill dogs who were surrendered in Dallas, Texas, and because Texas IGCA Rescue was so full, we offered to give them safe haven in Arizona, where they were safely transported and arrived on January 27 and 28, respectively. Asti is an active girl who LOVES to play with stuffed animals, have her neck and cheeks rubbed, and prefers never to be far from her humans. Tasha is a shy sweetie pie who loves to cuddle, bury her head in your neck, and enjoys a good belly rub. When the pair were reunited in Arizona, it was clear that they would shine bright and blossom in a home together. As fate would have it, an awesome new mom and dad were waiting just for them, and in their hearts they knew that these special girls were meant to become part of their family. The girls first “met” their new mom and dad on the internet, as their Arizona  foster mom began sending pictures and updates of their rapid progress. Their new mom and dad had already fallen in love with the girls before they ever even met, and when it was time to meet face to face, there wasn’t one second of hesitation that their family was finally complete. In their new forever home, Asti and Tasha will have a great time romping about, enjoying their new digs and spending ample cuddle time with their new mom and dad, who simply couldn’t be happier. This is a true Rescue success story in every sense, and we are simply delighted to congratulate Asti, Tasha and their new forever family!

Ivy, renamed June, is a 7 year old blue and white female placed in Tempe on March 2, 2011. Ivy was originally a mill dog surrendered in Dallas, Texas, and because Texas IGCA Rescue was so full, Northern California Rescue offered to give her a loving foster home. June’s awesome new mom and dad learned about her story on Petfinder and instantly fell in love. With the help of NorCal Rescue, June was safely transported to Phoenix where she met her new mom and dad for the very first time (and they were totally smitten!). June looks forward to sharing her peaceful space with Meep, her new tortoise sibling, to spending ample cuddle with her new mom and dad, and being loved and spoiled for the rest of her wonderful life! A VERY big and heartfelt congratulations to June and her new forever family!

DUKE is a handsome 1 year old white and fawn male placed in Phoenix on March 4, 2011. Duke came into rescue on August 28th when his owners’ felt they could no longer financially care for his eyes, which require several medications and frequent visits to the canine ophthalmologist. Duke is a precious boy who loves to play and cuddle with his new dad. He is very excited to share his forever home with three IG siblings and a Jack Russell, who will keep him company. He is especially fond of Star who also was adopted from Rescue. Duke may eventually lose his eyesight, but his new dad loves him very much, and believes every dog needs a loving forever home—especially those with special needs, who often are the most special dogs. Duke’s new dad is certain he gets just as much love as he gives, and couldn’t be happier. Congratulations to Duke and his entire new, wonderful family!

Zen came into rescue on January 22 after her family could no longer care for her due to financial hardship. Zen is a gentle lady, who is a little nervous at first but warms up once she feels comfortable. In her new forever home, Zen enjoys cuddling and spending time with her new sister, Babe. They live on 5 sprawling acres and go for long walks several times a day with their dad. She spends her days playing with Babe, and admiring her feline companions or lounging in the sun.  Her new family dotes on her constantly and she certainly enjoys all the attention. Congrats to Zen and her new forever family!

Pookie joined Rescue on October 5, 2010, when her previous owners were relocating and could not take Pookie with them. Pookie is the guardian of her new domain, and is sure to let her new mom know when someone is at the door. Chyna is also looking forward to playing and cuddling with her new sister, and their mom simply couldn’t be happier! Sami’s new mom is proud to offer her a loving forever home and wants everyone to know that mature dogs deserve specials homes just as much as younger ones! Congratulations to Sami, Chyna and their awesome mom!

Brody is a gorgeous 3-year-old, black and white male placed in Cave Creek on May 7, 2011. Brody entered our rescue program on February 28, 2010, as stray and though we tried to locate his owners, no one stepped forward to claim him. Brody is weary of strangers and can get pretty anxious in a situation where he might not feel comfortable, so it took us about a year to find the right home where he would be safe, protected, and most of all—LOVED! Brody loves visiting the dog park with his IG brothers Dash and Paolo, and even enjoys the company of an occasional foster sibling. He is a VERY special boy who develops very strong bonds with those few he trusts (and steals their hearts!), as was the case with his new dad, who he follows around everywhere. He likes to cuddle with his dad and nibble the top of his head like a corn cob to show his appreciation. Brody is ecstatic to finally have a forever home of his own, and we couldn’t be happier because we get to see him regularly at the East Valley Italian Greyhound Meetup group’s monthly rendezvous. Congratulations to Brody and his forever family!

Capone is a super friendly 9 year old blue and white male placed in Mesa on May 14, 2011. Capone came into the rescue July 30, 2010, after his owner relocated and could not take Capone along. Capone had his left eye removed due to damage that could not be repaired from an untreated chronic eye infection, but he doesn’t let it affect him one bit! In fact, it only made his new mom and dad love him that much more, even before they ever met! In his new home, Capone is enjoying life with his new brother Jordan, a miniature long-haired daschund. The dynamic duo love to play and cuddle, and couldn’t be happier to be siblings. Capone loves his new mom and dad very much, and is proud that they love him enough to make sure he is kept safe by teaching him pool training to ensure his safety around the water. Capone and his new family are also looking forward to future play dates with their IG friends at the East Valley Italian Greyhound Meetup Group!
Congratulations to Capone and his forever family!

Lucky, renamed Enzo, is a handsome 4-year-old red fawn male placed in Peoria on May 21, 2011. Enzo joined our rescue program on April 7, 2011 when his owner was relocating to Europe and did not want to put Enzo through such a difficult overseas transition. Enzo is a sweet, shy, laid back boy who gets along with everyone. In his new forever home, Enzo joins his new brother, Bentley, a senior gentle giant German shepherd rottweiler mix who is showing him the ropes (and sharing his duck treats like a champ!). Enzo is looking forward to happily romping about in his new backyard, and is excited to go on daily walks with his new mom and dad to scope out the neighborhood. But perhaps most of all, he is elated to have two loving parents (and four hands!) to give him all the belly rubs and petting he can handle! Congratulations to Enzo and his entire family!

Lily was adopted on June 1, 2011 and has new brother Marco who was adopted from rescue in 2010.  Lily loves to play with Marco and spends her days running in the backyard with him and playing with toys.  She loves to cuddle with her new mom and dad.  She also spends her days sunning herself on her favorite bed.  Lily is very excited because there will be a new addition to the family around November.  Lily’s new mom is expecting a baby!!!  Marco and Lily hopefully will be the perfect little IGs and welcome new baby with tons of IG love. Maximo is a handsome 4-year-old white and red fawn pied male placed in Phoenix on July 16, 2011. Max entered our rescue program May 20, 2010, when the Humane Society called us to find him a good home. Max is a very special, highly intelligent boy with soulful eyes who stole his new mom’s heart from the moment she first saw his picture. Max is looking forward to life as an only dog, as he prefers to share his space with just his favorite human! In his new forever home, he will be slathered by all the love he can handle. He is excited to go on many walks and to spend ample cuddle and play time with his new mom, who says finding Max is just a dream come true. Congratulations to Max and his new Mom!

Vinny loves his new home and new best friend Bo who was also adopted from rescue 3 years ago.  He has lots of toys to play with, goes running every morning with his mom and loves that he has children who to play ball with which is his favorite thing to do. Vinny couldn’t ask for a better home where he gets constant attention and is more than happy to return the favor.

Styx is a  blue and white male 4 year old male adopted in Scottsdale on August 4, 2011.   He came into rescue on July 15, 2011 when his owner’s living arrangements changed. Styx went to his foster home and within 5 days his foster family wanted to adopt him.  Styx certainly found the perfect home to call his forever home.  There are 3 Italian Greyhounds to play with and he  is especially fond of Grace who was adopted from rescue in 2010.  Styx has learned how to swim in the pool and loves it.  He goes for long walks every night, plays fetch with the ball and is showered with tons of attention by his new parents and IG playmates!

pawline.gif (1724 bytes)

Nixon is an adorable 8-month-old red fawn male placed in Phoenix on August 27, 2011. Nixon joined Rescue on April 5 after his new owner realized she misjudged the degree of training that comes with a young, high-energy IG puppy. Nixon is very excited to share his new forever home with IG sister Misty (see 2008 adoptions), and is working on getting acquainted with a new feline friend as well. Nixon’s new mom and dad were instantly smitten by his incredibly captivating charm, and are sure looking forward to showing him the ropes! Nixon is stoked about his grassy yard and is curious about this thing called pool training that his new parents are planning to help keep him safe. Nixon is already soaking up his role as big brother and enjoys helping mom take care of his brand new human sibling. Nixon is as happy as a clam and just can’t believe he scored such amazing new parents! Congratulations to Nixon and his new forever family!

Maggie is a sweet 5-year-old blue fawn female placed in Gilbert on September 10, 2011. Maggie joined Rescue on August 28 when her owner developed severe health problems and asked for our help in finding Maggie a loving new home. Maggie is a sweet, social girl who likes to snuggle under the covers and loves to be petted. She absolutely LOVES to go for walks several times a day with her new family members, and thinks that car rides (to visit more friends and relatives!) are even better! She fits into the family just perfectly, and is adored by all. They waited patiently for a long time for just the right match, and Maggie immediately filled their hearts with joy! Congratulations to Maggie and her new family!

Jewel is a 6 year old fawn and white female that came into rescue on April 30, 2011 due to behavioral issues. Jewel was adopted on September 11, 2011.   She has made such a fast adjustment in her new home and it seems that she has always lived there.  She is sweet, loving and a lot of fun and is loved by the entire family.  Her sister Italian Greyhound, Bella, has been a bit skeptical but is warming up to Jewel.  The 13 year-old poodle is just glad that Bella has someone else to play with.  Jewel loves cuddling up at night with her new owners.  Jewel is also in the process of teaching Bella to use the dog door, for which  her new parents are TOTALLY grateful!! Jewel has completed their family and she couldn’t be in a home where there is more love.
